HGF Complete: Brexit Webinars

November 2020

Event date: 31st December 2020

The UK is due to leave the EU trade mark and design system (EU IPO) at 11pm on 31st December 2020. At that time identical UK trade mark and design registrations will be automatically created, cloned from the European Union registrations they are no longer part of.

HGF Complete can manage this process in the UK free of charge for you.

As part of this campaign, HGF held a series of webinars, where we discussed what Brexit means for trade mark and design registrations. You can watch all the recorded webinars below.

Webinar 1

Brexit – The impact on trade marks and designs; the basics

The webinar was held on 10th and 11th September. It was designed to give a basic but comprehensive overview of the impact of design and trade mark rights in the UK and EU and provide you with a good foundation for the Brexit webinars to follow.

The webinar was held on 8th and 9th October. We covered practical opposition and cancellation strategies both applicable to UK and EUIPO practice in the run up to the end of the Brexit transitional period on 31st December 2020.
