“Can robots invent and create? A dialogue between Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property” – Alicante

March 2019

Event date: 14th March 2019

HGF Partner Lee Curtis will be speaking at a Conference hosted by the University of Alicante in Spain on ” Can robots invent and create? A dialogue between Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property” on 14th and 15th March 2019.

The conference will cover the rise of AI and its impact on the world economy (Industry 4.0, cloud/fog/edge computing, personal and non-personal data) which is changing our landscape very rapidly. And, as in many other situations, the legal framework is not prepared for this change.

This is especially concerning in the Intellectual Property field, as this new economy should be strongly supported by a clear set of rules, giving certainty to the stakeholders and fostering innovation.

The two-day congress, will analyse the key issues for IP in that new AI scenario.

Representatives from IP international organisations, academia, law practice and industry will have a chance to share with the audience their different points of view about problems and solutions.
